the theatre is a blank page

Hello from St. Petersburg, Russia! I am here working on the movement and staging of La Traviata at the Mariinsky Theatre, renowned and grand and full of incredible talent. I will be sharing more about that soon but in the meantime I wanted to share with you a video from the project I was working on last month.

the theatre is a blank page, a co-production between Ann Hamilton, SITI Company and the Wexner Center for the Arts and graduate actors at OSU in Columbus, Ohio, was an attempt to find spaciousness, as Anne Bogart says in the video, and I am happy to say it created it in me. The process and ensemble restored in me a hope and a fervor around theatre and the creation of it. I am looking forward to sharing some of that insight with the campers at Acting Manitou in only a few weeks and with continuing to explore this notion of spaciousness.

Check out the video and feel free to explore more about SITI Company on their website.
